California Dreaming

As many of you know I have recently taken a quick trip out to the west coast (although certainly not the best coast) and let me tell y'all…. It was such an incredible experience. Everything from getting to collaborate with other designers, walk through some of the most incredible showrooms, and eat the most absolutely delicious food I have ever put in my mouth.

First off, can we talk about how awesome our hotel was? We stayed at the Pasea Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach. This alone would have been such an awesome experience, but if any of you know my secret obsession with Brody Jenner, then you would know that running into his drop dead beautiful girlfriend Kaitlyn Carter at the same hotel was debatably the most exciting thing to happen to me the day we arrived. We even posted the same picture on Instagram although she has quite a few more followers than I do.

After I was done fan girling we began what was an awesome few days with Southern Living and Thermador. I was able to have lunch with two of my designer friends Alena Woerpel and Julie Holloway of Milk & Honey Home before enjoying the afternoon at the hotel spa. We were also able to head into West Hollywood to visit the design district where we hit Peter Dunham home, Hollyhock, and Serena and Lily… all some of our favorites here at HPID.

On the first day of the itinerary we got to tour the Thermador facility and design center before all coming together for a fabulous dinner and heading out to a The Winery.

The next morning we had breakfast prepared by Thermador chefs which was honestly out of this world if you couldn’t tell by my numerous Instagram post about it. We continued the day with a couple different design and product presentations mixed in with a few more cooking experiences (thank goodness)!

My short time out on the California coast was awesome and such a learning experience. I absolutely loved being able to spend time with other designers from all over the country and share insight about all the things we love. People always say you should love what you do, and for me in this industry that is an understatement. The priceless friendships and experiences I have gained over these past few years are something I will treasure forever and California was a sweet sweet reminder of that. Until next time!
