Figure Eight REVEAL PART 2

Thought you would like to see more photos from the Figure Eight Island renovation that we have been working on for over 1.5 years. The new master bedroom and bath were formerly another bedroom for guests combined with parts of the upstairs den. The space needed to have a suite feel and the bedroom and master bath, complete with a home gym and two very large his/her closets and dressing rooms, take up half of the entire upstairs of this home. It feels like you have entered a spa or retreat. I chose dark blues, cobalts with hints of grays/purple and teal mixed with white and cream for an organic look.

The drapes are on a remote and can be operated jointly with privacy shades or black out for sleeping.

The ceiling is covered in a gray tweed by Phillip Jeffries. It feels like man's suit and adds a beautiful texture to the ceiling.

A rattan king bed layered with linen upon linen flanked by lacquered and oak side chests creates is accented with blues and cobalts with hints of plum.

There are so many lovely details in the space, it is tough to show them all....

The bedroom feels organic and a perfect mix of sea and sand color palettes (ok, maybe the Mediterranean Sea) but the stark contrast is beautiful

The master bath is created from slabs of calacutta marble, calacutta mosaics for texture flows perfectly from the bedroom.

Custom cabinets painted in a soft "Revere Pewter" pull out the taupe in the marble for a warmer, less sterile feel.

Heated flooring and a tiled rug under the tub creates a focal point.

I spy an unexpected door in the shower - exit strategy perhaps? It leads to an outdoor shower on the master porch just in case the weather permits. Stay tuned for more shots of the master bathroom! All I want for Christmas... a spa like bath? Or maybe just a visit to a spa? Or a day off, or a pedicure or 5 minutes to myself.... oh, a girl can dream.
